Use this quick checklist to determine if your asthma symptoms are under control. Symptoms include, but are not limited to difficulty breathing, wheezing, coughing, and tightness in the chest.
- Do you wake up at night because of asthma symptoms?
- Have you missed work/school because of asthma symptoms?
- Do you avoid or limit activities of any kind because of asthma symptoms?
- Do you use your rescue/quick-relief medicine more than 2 times a week (not including the prevention of exercise-induced asthma or bronchospasm [EIA/EIB])?
If you answered YES to any of the above questions, it’s time to take control of your asthma. Take the short Asthma PACT survey at www.AsthmaPACT.org to receive a personalized report on how to gain control of your asthma symptoms. Share the results with your asthma doctor and take the Asthma PACT survey again in 3 to 6 months to measure your progress. Asthma can’t be cured, but it can be controlled!
