Second Wind 102-998 (Indoor Air Quality Test Kit)

Specs

Tests for bacteria, yeast, and mold over a 7-day period.

Instructions:

1. Ensure placement of test is not near circulating fans, door openings, and is clear of debris, dirt, dust, etc.
2. Remove Petri dish and bottle.
3. Remove Petri dish lid.
4. Shake bottle, remove cap (do not allow the solution to touch bare hands and do not touch the inside of the Petri dish with bare hands)
5. Pour entire contents into Petri dish, swirl gently to distribute sample so the entire bottom of the Petri dish is covered. 
6. Leave uncovered and undisturbed away from direct sunlight, indoors, for one hour.
7. Place lid of Petri dish back on and seal with tape.
8. Place Petri dish in box and close the lid.  Store at room temperature or warmer area for 7 days.
9. After 7 days, view the results:
   • SHINY WHITE:  Bacteria
   • SHINY YELLOW AND RED:  Yeast
   • FUZZY WHITE TO BLACK:  Mold

To Dispose After Testing:

1. Remove lid, add a teaspoon of household bleach and swirl.
2. Allow to stand for 10 minutes (kills bacteria in dish)
3. Pour off surface solution and dispose of Petri dish in garbage.  
4. Use fresh bleach for each Petri dish.
